The Henley Football Partnership held its first football festival on 21 May 2011.
Henley Town FC, AFC Henley and Henley YMCA combined resources and held the day long festival for footballers aged 5 to 50. Just over a year ago the clubs came together as an FA Charter Standard Community Club. The Partnerships aim is to create continuous football opportunities for boys, girls, men and women and those with disabilities.
The three clubs staged preliminary competitions at their own grounds in the morning and the finals and exhibition games were held in the afternoon at Henley Town's Invesco Perpetual Triangle ground. Henley YMCA United won the men's plate and Henley YMCA Casuals FC won the Inclusive Cup. Owain Prosser Oxfordshire FA development Officer assisted by Liz Hodkin Henley's deputy mayor presented the trophies and medals.
The opportunity was also taken to present Henley YMCA Casuals with the magnificent Berks, Bucks and Oxfordshire FA Inclusive League Conference Division trophy and medals. Casuals had won the league in a season long competition against Milton Keynes Dons and Northampton Town teams.
